The first club meeting was held on 03/06 /1977 at Talya Hotel, where the club still meets. The number of members grew rapidly from nine founders to twentyone. The first ladies night was only one week later. The first president was Mahmut Konuk, the club became it’s charter at 15/04/1980.

Only in 1992 the board decided to accept females as members, so the first female member who is the first president today joined the club in february 1993.Today the club has 58 member of whom nine are woman.

The club has signed a lot of humanity projects in the last 25 years. Club members always take place or sponsor GSE, student study exchange, RYLA projects. For long years club members have served for the polio plus project. The Antalya Rotaract Club was founded in 1992 , and still is serving with its 23 members. The building of a primary health care unit and the foundation of the first RCC in this area should be mentioned of the last 10 years major projects.

The RCC was founded in 1999 in the poorest, uneducated, unhealthiest areas of Antalya, in the leadership of an phycian, serving in this area, who also became a member of our club recently. The RCC has first build a community center together with the social services departements of the city, and urgently started reading & writing courses for women and young girls, sewing, knitting courses in addition. Rotarian spouses visited woman there and tried to help for their personel improvement. In the past three years more than 120 females learned reading & writing, about 50 women attended sewing and knitting courses. Some of them have their own studio today. 12 girls attended advanced courses and applied for elementary school diplomas.

The marriage of 23 couples who were living together, most of them unregistrated and so their children, was arranged. So, all sides including children become identity cards.The circumcision itself and the feast, for 51 boys, witch is a big social event and necessity, was sponsored last june.

Reading, writing, sewing knitting courses continue. This year we have organised the research and treatment of parasites in 250 families. We are sponsoring the schooling of 85 boys and girls, we have restored 3 pre school classes. A marriage ceremony is planned again. Now we are planning the construction of a modern community center witch will be able to serve better.

We do need any kind of support for our RCC,and community center. We need computers, toys, books, knitting machinery, kitchen utilities .....
